Through extensive work with schools, developing enterprise education, it became apparent that, whilst many have a comprehensive range of quality programmes in place, schools do require support in developing systems to monitor and evaluate learning.

Representatives of the Business and Enterprise Specialist Schools group, in conjunction with the EBP, have developed a framework for students to compile a portfolio of evidence and work towards an accredited award at Entry, Intermediate and Advanced levels.  The importance of student ownership of their learning was pivotal in the Award's development.

A pilot scheme is now running until the end of this academic year.  Following an evaluation of the pilot, the Award will then be available to all Lincolnshire & Rutland secondary schools from 2006/7 onwards.
